Virši invites to support SOS Children’s Villages

Energy commodities trader and convenience store network Virši and SOS Children’s Villages association have commenced long-term cooperation with the aim to raise public awareness about the need for and possibilities of donating. In 2023, Virši donated EUR 20 000 to provide daily transport for SOS Children’s Villages association. To draw people’s attention to the importance of support, the Company is organising an information campaign throughout the year, inviting everyone to participate by leaving their donation in the donation boxes at Virši stations or by subscribing to the monthly donation on the charity’s website www.sosbernuciemati.lv

“We are happy that this year we have started a friendship with Virši, which supports the families in the care of SOS Children’s Villages      s financially and invites its customers to be involved. Being helpful, empathetic and kind are the values we teach every day to the children growing up in the care of SOS families. We are delighted that companies with similar values are helping us to care for children who have had less successful early years. It is easy to keep doing good when such powerful friends help!” says Ilze Paleja, Director of the SOS Children’s Villages Association.

In addition to financial support, Virši will also be involved in a number of other activities, as well as organise a broad information campaign to draw public attention to the importance of support in helping to create safe and favourable conditions for children's development.

“We want to support families in need so that through SOS Children’s Villages every child has an equal opportunity to experience a family-like and supportive environment, which is one of the most important developmental stages for each of us. We invite everyone to get involved and support our initiative so that the challenges of this time do not stop SOS Children’s Villages from continuing to do what has been started – to help children without biological parents to receive love, be safe, socialise and learn,” says Jānis Vība, Chairman of the Board at Virši.

Doing good together is even better, so everyone is invited to participate and find the best way to help SOS Children’s Villages. Donations amounts are voluntary and you can find out more about the support opportunities at www.virsi.lv. Let's support the children of SOS Villages together!
